Superior Performance Hi-Fi Products
DIY audio has been popular with the audio electronics enthusiast since my youth, and many years before that. DIY audio grew with the introduction of the transistor and even more so with the introduction of the op-amp or operational amplifier.
Before I set up Graham Slee Projects in 1998 all my preamps and amplifiers were "do it yourself". I must admit I had the adavantage of working in electronics and audio - I've been doing so since 1974.
I cannot share all my designs with you, but here I've selected two under the DAK (DIY Audio Kits) banner: the Novo headphone amp and the Genera phono preamp. I hope to be adding more DIY audio projects and kits.
Also featured in this section is the DIY Solo upgrade - the latest version being the Solo Ultra-Linear Diamond Edition.
The DIY version of the What Hi-Fi? award winning Novo headphone amplifier. The circuit is the same as the award winner, but the casework is intentionally and essentially different to show it's a kit rather than factory built.
Also available ready built and fully tested
More a project than a kit. First presented as a topic on our online owners club forum where the design process is discussed in great depth. I had intended to publish a DIY audio magazine, which didn't happen, so the kit as such is presented like an electronics hobby magazine project.
Offered here is the DIY audio solution for owners of all Solo headphone amps introduced since mid 2004. I hope you agree with me when I say this is a fantastic value for money offer. Few manufacturers if any offer the DIY audio enthusiast the option of upgrading a commercial product.
